Opportunity Summary:

Streetwise Community Circus Workshops (SCCW) has a highly trained and experienced staff who include tutors with over 10 years experience working with people of all ages with disabilities. Workshops are tailored to the specific needs of the group with the full range of circus skills offered. These have proved very successful and SCCW currently runs projects in partnership with Belfast Trust Health Promotion, Northern Trust, National Autistic Society, and Belfast Activity Centre. Workshops can be organised as one off workshops or a programme of workshops leading up to an event or public showcase. Please contact the organisation for further information.

Organisation Information:

Streetwise Community Circus Workshops (SCCW) aims to make circus skills accessible to people throughout Northern Ireland, irrespective of gender, age, disability, or economic, religious or cultural background, by providing circus workshops throughout the community run by teams of experienced tutors. SCCW provide its tutors with training in teaching circus skills, First Aid, child protection issues, disability awareness and Makaton, to make workshops an inclusive and safe environment for individuals to participate in circus skills. SCCW aims to make circus performing/teaching a viable and sustainable living for our members. It does this by providing members with clown and Samba training, providing directors for acts and providing facilities to help develop new high quality material to raise the standards in performance and creativity within the organisation's membership. SCCW aims to develop new markets for performers and circus workshops and increase existing markets by making acts and workshops available throughout Ireland.
